The Jawoyn Association is looking for a Team Development Mentor to work with its successful rangers and land managers.
Key Responsibilities
• Workplace mentoring our highly valued rangers from the local community
• Liaising with a wide range of project partners to organise projects and logistics
• Develop knowledge and experience in the application of Workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Develop good knowledge of bush restoration practices and conservation activities
• Excellent people management and training skills
• Good organisational skills and the ability to complete simple reports in a timely manner
• Work in conjunction with land managers, community groups and farmer groups and the development and maintenance of relationships with these stakeholders.
• Develop social and teamwork skills including the ability to foster productive working relationships with a variety of people and organisations.
• Work independently in a regional or remote worksite
• Manage a personal workload having regard to team and organisational needs, performance measures, quality and timeliness.
Selection Criteria
• Sound experience in land management delivering civil construction projects, conservation and cultural heritage.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in the multiple activities relevant to the key responsibilities and ability to work outdoors in physically demanding environments.
• An understanding of contemporary Aboriginal aspirations with regards to land management and ability to communicate sensitively and work effectively with Traditional Owners.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work, mentoring a team and particularly in a remote locality’s and with external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a small team of rangers and/or related field staff.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, cost, and execute projects within the time frame and resources allocated.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems through initiative and objective thinking.
Full Time; 37.5 hours P/W. Annual Salary; $66,655 P/A. Salary Sacrifice Available
