Description
Aboriginal people of Australia have been using plants as a resource for more than 50,000 years. During this period a diversity of plant use and knowledge evolved. The Jawoyn Plant Identikit lists the Jawoyn name and traditional use of 50 common plants found in the Katherine region of the Northern Territory. It aims to increase awareness and understanding of traditional Jawoyn knowledge and is based on the botanical expertise of Nipper Daypbulama Brown, Sarah Flora, Peter Jatbula, Phyllis Winyjorrotj, Ivy Brumby, Jessie Brown, Margaret Katherine and Mildred Brennan. The full colour booklet has 64 pages.
